Alexander McQueen  has always been revolutionary. His thoughts his presentations till date are beyond any judgment.

“I’ve seen a woman get nearly beaten to death by her husband. I know what misogyny is … I want people to be afraid of the women I dress.” – Alexander McQueen. His collections mostly reflects this line depicting  provocative , aggressive and fiery ladies although extraordinarily designed, structured and presented savage faces and outfits in his shows, through art and fashion.

World was not ready when they first saw his creations .Its always been more than what viewers could imagine and digest.

His ideas and unique themes made him go up hill into the fashion industry. Sarah burton his friend and longtime collaborator and successor once said about him in an interview

“We would tell him something was technically impossible and in the morning there would be something amazing on the mannequin”.

He had a capability to inculcate art and fashion together and give the world some amazing pieces and shows.

♥“McQueen influenced a whole generation of designers. His brilliant imagination knew no bounds as he conjured up collection after collection of extraordinary designs.”

There were many more achievements besides these I mentioned, but it could not be summarized in one post . I know for sure he is an inspiration to most of us admirers of fashion and art. He is not an entity to be forgotten ever.

  1. Too big an influence and too great a genius to ever be encapsulated in a single post – just as you said. You did a fantastic job of hitting the highlights and illuminating some of his philosophy. Thank you for a beautiful and inspiring tribute of a great artist I look forward to more of these posts! 🙂
